St. Martin's held a Sunday lunch in the Church Hall, after our Mass on Sunday January 13th 2019.<br/><br />
Our January lunch has become an annual event, and it consists of a three-course Sunday lunch, with Roast Turkey as the main course -for many of us this is the final time of eating turkey until next Christmas!<br/><br />
Seventy-five people sat down to the meal, which was cooked by Captain Jeremy Sugg of the Church Army, who is a friend of Father Gorran's and a great friend to our parish.<br/><br />
In addition to people from St. Martin's, we were pleased to welcome several friends from the congregation at St. Marychurch, as well as other friends from further afield.<br/><br />
A Raffle was held during the lunch, and many prizes were won.<br/><br />
Profits from the lunch and the raffle and other donations reached the sum of £500.00, which we have donated to the local "ShelterBox" charity, for their emergency appeal for Indonesia. By doing this, we hope that our lunch will result in people less fortunate than ourselves having their needs provided for as well.<br/><br />
The lunch was a very enjoyable occasion. Perhaps YOU might like to join us in January of next year?<br />
