A Prayer for Ascension Day

Almighty God and Father, we thank you that the head which was once crowned with thorns is now crowned with glory.
We celebrate with joy the Ascension of Jesus, and his taking of his rightful place of Kingship over all creation.
Give us grace to acknowledge his rule in our words and in our deeds, and to serve his worldwide kingdom joyfully,
that the day may be hastened when all people and all nations acknowledge him as Lord, and he reigns for ever and ever.

Amen.
